HRV & Ventilation Cleaning Stratford, ON
For an HRV or ventilation cleaning project in Stratford, list each system component you want assessed: the HRV core and screens, condensate path, bathroom exhaust ducts, and range hood ducting may require separate access and methods. Photograph unit labels, filters, fan grilles, and exterior terminations, and note which rooms have weak exhaust or lingering steam. Ask what will be cleaned, whether ducts and caps are included, and what filter size and replacement interval suit the specific unit.
Does bathroom steam linger after the fan runs?
For ventilation work in Stratford, note which fans, ducts, or HRV components need attention. Ask whether the scope includes the core, filters, condensate path, full exhaust runs, and their exterior terminations.
Include the HRV Core and Condensate Path
Check the unit label and photograph the core, screens, and condensate connection if accessible. Ask whether each is included and how the parts will be handled and cleaned. Dust or a blocked condensate path may affect operation, but the right scope depends on the unit design and condition. Confirm how components will be reinstalled and what maintenance the manufacturer recommends.
Trace Exhaust Ducts to Their Terminations
A fan can run while a duct or exterior cap restricts airflow. Identify bathroom and kitchen fans separately, then ask whether the cleaning plan reaches each full duct run and the wall or roof termination. Note roof access and any concealed sections, since these change the work required. Range hood ducting may have different access and cleaning considerations from a bathroom exhaust.
Record the Filter Details
Ask for the filter size and type specified for the particular HRV, where the filters sit, and how often the manufacturer recommends checking or replacing them. Write down the model number or photograph its label so the information can be verified later. A practical routine depends on the unit and filter, rather than a universal schedule that may not suit your equipment.
